I have recently discovered that several Windows 10 PC’s have lost the connection to the network. It will show as a limited connection on wired and wireless and will get a self assigned IP address like this 169.254.x.x. This is most likely a IP stack problem which can be fixed by resetting the TCP/IP stack to default values.
To do this, open up CMD with administrator rights:
First, we use this command Netsh int ip reset which will reset TCP/IP.
The second command is netsh winsock reset catalog. This command will reset the WINSOCK entries to default values.
Try to restart the computer and it should be fixed!
